LENS LOVE: Sigma 100-200mm f/4.5 Macro in Pentax K Mount

Two years ago, one of the first ever lenses I bought for selling was this Sigma 100-200mm f/4.5 Macro in Pentax K mount. I don't have any images of it and it just slipped me by because I couldn't use it on my Nikon D5200 and at that time, I had no experience in converting lens mounts yet.

But based on first impressions, it is a beautiful lens, mechanically smooth to operate with no zoom creep. Perhaps maybe the macro and aperture rings are too small to grip.

The focal range is somewhat limiting, but the close focusing ability adds versatility. Despite the limited range, I'd like to think of this as a 100mm f/4.5 portrait lens that gives the flexibility to zoom to 200mm.

A maximum aperture of f/4.5 isn't a big deal at these range because you can easily get a thin depth of field even up to f/8!

With regard to image quality, what I remember is that colors are neutral but pleasing. Sharpness is there at f/4.5, and contrast is somewhat weak especially when shooting outdoor at daytime.
